Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my students learn by supporting them with the items chosen. This is a high school special education self-contained classroom. They are in grades 9-12. Their academic levels range from pre-k to 2nd grade. I teach English, math, and social skills. It is important to prepare them for the real world. Every week the students learn one new social skill. They copy notes, read, and participate in role-play. Because I teach in a self contained program there are different subjects combined per period. The headphones will help students research different topics and listen to the video clips without interrupting other students.In addition, the board games will be useful. Using the board games will teach them how to cooperate with each other and deal with feelings of losing and winning. It's team work that will help make them successful.
