My students need vinyl examination gloves, as the students in my class wear diapers. The paraprofessionals (teacher aides) must wear gloves when changing the diapers.

My Students

Help keep the children and classroom staff healthy. Our students all wear diapers and need to be changed at least twice a day.

I am a teacher in a middle school in a city in northern California.

All of my students have orthopedic impairments and a variety of other disabilities. They use wheelchairs and alternative means of communication. The world that my students live in is quite small as they lack mobility and the means to easily communicate. For most, school is the only time that they are not at home and are able to participate in the community.

My Project

All of the students wear diapers that are changed at least twice a day. Teachers and teacher's aide must wear vinyl gloves when changing the the students. The gloves protect both the diaper changers and the diaper wearers. We use 300 - 400 gloves a week (3-4 boxes of 100).

Having the necessary supplies allows us to attend to our students' needs in a hygienic manner.

Both the students and the individuals changing diapers are protected from illness and disease.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
