Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My community has an incredibly fluid population. Since the community is constantly changing, many of our students come into and out of the school throughout the year. All of our students fall at or near the poverty line.
But, despite the constant change, our students are excited to learn new things and want to be engaged in the world around them.
I want to provide an environment in my classroom that helps the students achieve this goal no matter what changes may occur around them.
My Project
The students in my classroom and at my school come excited, energized, and ready to learn daily! This attitude is one that I want to carry into my classroom and into the student's learning. As an adult, I can barely sit still much less stay in one place! Adding flexible seating to my classroom will give my students an environment that they can customize their learning with.
Students will be developing their learning style through differentiation and finding items that will help them focus and learn in a way that makes sense to them.
I want my students to have items in the classroom that they will be comfortable using at any time to enhance their time at school.
By donating to this project, you will be helping me achieve an environment that will help my students feel like they have a space that is theirs and that they can feel comfortable learning in. All too often, learning is seen with desks in a row and I'm ready to break that cycle and allow my students to learn in the best way that makes sense to them.
