This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom budgets have to go toward essentials like paper, pencils, and glue and there is no money for enrichment. That is where generous donors like you are able to help bridge the gap.

My special education students are also in an extremely low-income area and many are also English Learners.

They have a lot to overcome and special resources go a long way to helping students achieve their goals. My classroom is an SDC (special day class) special ed classroom for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Many of my students are Autistic and need modified curriculum and teaching strategies to meet their needs. We are hoping to provide an amazing educational opportunity for all of our special needs students outside of the classroom.

My Project

This field trip will provide my class of low income, special needs students with a valuable opportunity to learn. Your donation will provide the transportation needed to get our entire Special education Kindergarten class of approximately 20 students to a working farm and petting zoo, and about agriculture, the importance of bees, and provide them with an opportunity to see and touch animals that many of our students have never before had an opportunity to see.

Students will have an opportunity to take a tractor ride through the farm, learn about the planting and harvesting processes and see a variety of farm animals.
