I have the opportunity to teach a self contained 6-8th grade classroom of students who have been classified with Emotional Disturbance. (I do not believe it for one second) Our school is a high-need community that continues to dream and believe in all of the students.
One of the obstacles that my students face is the lack of exposure to the Internet. Our classroom does not have access to computers and the lab at school is not the correct environment for my students. I know if i could supplement the core curriculum with educational sites we would all be amazed at the journey we would take together.
The only resource I need for the class is the LCD projector. I was given a lap top from the District to help with the students Individual Educational Plans. I need the LCD projector to connect the laptop to the computer and project it onto our whiteboard. Can you imagine the amazement of a question the student might have and within minutes we all can be discovering the answers together.
Your help will make it possible for my students to continue to investigate, critically think and be competitive with the 21st Century children that have access to home computers and school computers. This would make them realize how important technology is for their future.
