Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My middle school students are curious, creative learners with unique ideas and voices. Many of them are shy and hesitant to speak in front of others, and public speaking can feel intimidating. I want to help them discover that their voices matter and develop the self-confidence to express their ideas with purpose, kindness, and integrity.

Through this project, students will use the MacBooks to research meaningful topics, evaluate reliable sources, organize evidence, and create persuasive and informative presentations.

They will learn to communicate respectfully, consider different perspectives, and use technology ethically and responsibly.

The presentation clicker will help students practice standing in front of an audience and presenting with greater independence and confidence.

My goal goes beyond success in the classroom. I want my students to envision themselves one day confidently presenting an important project to a major company, leading a meeting at their future workplace, or pitching an idea for a company of their own.

By giving them opportunities to practice now, we can help transform shy middle schoolers into confident future leaders who know how to speak with purpose, lead with ethics, and inspire positive change.
