Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my 10th grade English classes deserve to learn in an environment that is welcoming, interesting and fun. Since COVID-19, students have struggled with reading and maintaining a reading level that is appropriate for their grade.
Once a week, we read quietly for an uninterrupted 20 minutes to promote positive reading practices.
The bean bag chairs will be used to create a reading corner in the classroom. The books will be available for them to check out. The art supplies and incentives will be used for projects and motivation.
