Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a high school SDC class for intellectually disabled students. They are a fun group of teenagers who are enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills. They come to class with smiles and the willingness to try new things.

Many of my students are on the autism spectrum and really enjoy learning through hands-on activities.

Supplies that spark their imagination and communication are essential to my classroom. Students work on their communications skills using their personal mode of communication (PMC) to talk about the things they have created through art or building activities.
