This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My plan is to have a way for my Spanish speaking students to enjoy the amazing story of The Summer of the Mariposas! I have BOTH English and Spainsh speaking students in my inner city urban class. I do not have copies of a Spainsh version of our class book. This will help my students who speak ONLY Spanish to enjoy the story along with my English speaking students! They will be able to read this story and work along with my English speaking students to experience the journey of the girls as they travel to Mexico. It will be very excitiing for my students because many of my students are from the area of the main characters.
