At start of each math class daily, groups of students collaborate at whiteboards around the room as part of the Thinking Classroom's protocol. We really appreciate having the stools, cushions, and stadium chairs so we can better utilize our entire classroom.\r\n\r\nAlso, if and when students meet or exceed their math learning goals on two district-mandated math apps, they then have learning and seating choices. The new resources have made a meaningful difference in our classroom. We use the refrigerator daily to store snacks, lunches, and even important medications—keeping our students fueled and healthy throughout the day. The bean bags provided a calming space where students could relax, self-regulate, and feel comfortable during the school day. The clay offered a creative, hands-on outlet that helped improve their fine motor skills while also giving them a way to express themselves.\r\n\r\nEven more meaningful was the joy and pride the students felt knowing that our project was chosen. They felt seen, valued, and truly special. It wasn't just about the items we received—it was about the message that others believe in them, support their growth, and care about their success. This support created an uplifting and inclusive environment that continues to inspire our classroom everyday.","fullyFundedDate":1742582675479,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-with-autism/9078109/","projectTitle":"Help Students With Autism","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. SMITH","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9906161"},{"teacherId":7623189,"projectId":8811142,"letterContent":"My students were able to build and code functional robots using the LEGO Spike Prime kits. I wish you could have seen the looks on my students faces as I placed our leveled readers in the nice blue book bins you gave us. My students couldn't wait to choose a book to read once they completed their work assignment and store their school supplies in their nice new pencil pouches. just having new materials increased their interest for reading and writing. They were so happy to know that people like you cared about their learning environment. \r\n\r\nThe second week we started our story sharing time. Each student read a story about Fall and drew pictures and wrote about Fall. They were happy to have new school supplies like pencil pouches and pencils at their desks to start their writing assignment. They book bins really helped them find and organize all their leveled readers. Once their story summaries were ready, they came up to the front of the class to share their summaries and read their favorite part of the story. This lead to really great story conversations about the fun great things we can do in the Fall. Words can not express the great impact these materials have made on my student's learning experience. Once again, thanks you for your kind support.","fullyFundedDate":1723315236929,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-success/8480155/","projectTitle":"Tools for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crossfield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-crossfield"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103643","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":954,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.9,"schoolId":103643,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Munger Elementary - Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Munger Elementary - Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/detroit-public-schools-community-district/munger-pre-k-8-school/103643"}
