Spanish Readers That Students Chose! Vamos a Aprender Espanol!

Help me give my students options for reading authentic Spanish. Having a choice will motivate them to read and engage more in their work! Having multiple sets will lessen wear and tear. Stickers and candy will be small rewards!

My Project

Readers have proven to be an effective way for students to improve their input and output in the target language. We have one set of readers for 3 teachers, which makes things more challenging than they need to be. Not only are the books tattered, but teachers cannot teach the material at the same time; we need to wait for one teacher to finish with the books.

Having multiple sets will help and will also allow students to choose what to read.

With various titles, students will then have to share (in Spanish) what their book was about. The readers provide multiple opportunities to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish.

The stickers and candy are small rewards for tasks completed along the way.

The markers, laminating covers, etc. will be used for students to write book reviews, draw scenes from the story, write letters to the characters, speak about them in Spanish, hang them on the wall, and various other assessments while reading the books.

Getting students engaged in learning is essential to their success. These readers and other supplies will provide our kiddos with many opportunities to engage and succeed.
