Help me give my students social emotional support through hands-on learning as they embrace Spanish language, culture and traditions.

My Project

The materials requested will help students stay organized and engaged as they dive into learning Spanish. The standards taught ask students to present information and ideas to an audience in the foreign language. They will use or make items to perform skits, puppet shows or dialogues to demonstrate their learning.

Students explore the culture of various Spanish speaking nations including a tortillas vs arepas cooking challenge!

The students get to make each recipe, try the food and vote for their favorite. Children also make traditional crafts such as worry dolls and papel picado which means we go through a lot of scissors.

Learning a new language can be scary so positive reinforcements such as prizes and affirmations are used to boost the students courage. The goal is to make Spanish engaging, challenging and a safe space to learn. This project will keep my students excited for Spanish class.
