Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want my students to engage more in the Spanish classroom by making materials more accessible and relevant to their lives. These literature resources will allow my students to critically engage with the material and comprehension of Spanish speaking cultures and overall language.

It is imperative for our students to make their experiences in our classrooms relatable to their own lives and help them make connections to foster more open and caring environments that are different from those within our city limits.

By having all of these resources, I believe my students can gain the first steps toward engaging in real-world learning.

In order to provide more engagement during Spanish reading time, I find it important to provide students with authentic reading options for them as opposed to assigning one specific book for the entire class. This classroom library will continue to help my students for years.
