Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at VES truly take meaning of our school mascot, Heroes. They are Heroes because they work hard and always do their best! They are challenged on a daily basis and always find a way to be successful! Veteran's Heroes have growth mindsets-- they never give up! These Veteran Heroes are not only problem solvers; they love to share their ideas, their answers, their stories...they just love to learn! Our Heroes are problem solvers, life-long learners, and give meaning to the word: Heroes.
My Project
English is a tough language to learn- whether you are an ELL or just a struggling reader! These resources will help my little readers build a stronger reading foundation that will be soon needed in 4th grade. Some of their skills are missing, and these items will help strengthen these areas! With a little hard work and a whole lot of fun, my students' reading skills will improve! The phonic flip books, puzzles, vowel sound match-ups, and blending sounds will have these students reading and writing in no time! The Tricky Words and Phrases Cards will help my ELLs practicing, understanding and using English’s difficult words and phrases!
Struggling readers will enjoy using hands on manipulatives and games that will help strengthen their foundational reading skills!
They will be having so much fun making words, manipulating letters, and playing phonics games, that they won't even know they are learning!
Building these skills will help guide my beginning readers to new worlds of reading and writing.
