Some Really Good Stuff Needed in 2nd Grade! (Title 1)

My students need desktop helper sleeves, comprehension games, 120 floor game, portable word wall folders, tickets, pencil clips, a bulletin board set, beach ball, and other Math manipulatives and games, as well as the Reading and Writing resources and other supplies to be successful in 2nd Grade.

My Students

My school is in close proximity to a military-base and we have some military students. We are in an impoverished community and are a Title 1 school. We have 100% of our population receiving free and reduced price breakfast and lunch.

I am currently a 2nd Grade Teacher to a wonderful group of students. I am so fortunate to be able to call them my class.

My Project

My project is a Dream project to me! I am requesting desktop helper sleeves, comprehension games, 120 floor game, portable word wall folders, tickets, pencil clips, a bulletin board set, beach ball, and other items from the Really Good Stuff site, in order to better assist my students in their journey through 2nd Grade. Because my school is recognized as a Title 1 school, funds for necessary supplies can be limited. This project would will help bring supplies and resources to my classroom, that my students would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience.

From experience, I know that students learn more, when they have hands-on materials to work with.

I am requesting materials that are powerful tools to help my students succeed. For example, the floor mat hundreds chart, will help my students enforce skills with addition, subtraction, and place value. The "catch-a clock" beach balls will be a fun way to teach telling time. Another great material being requested is the portable word wall. This item will help the students with reading and writing. Finally, another item from this project that I want to highlight are the games that help teach and enforce reading skills such as main idea, inference, key details, etc. I want to help my students become strong Math students, as well as Readers and Writers. This project will help me do just that.
