Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I never saw myself as an actor. I really didn't. However, when you get the chance to stand in front of 30 bright-eyed students, you have to be. I sing, I dance and I have mastered the voices of many different cartoon animals. I understand the responsibility of a great first impression of the school. It warms my heart that such a simple gesture has become such an essential part of their school day.
I teach a bilingual classroom where all 30 of my students are English Language Learners.
My students love to read and are eager to solve problems every single day. The school I proudly work at serves a low-income population of primarily Hispanic students. Despite many hardships, my students always come in motivated and ready to learn!
My Project
How can technology be frustrating? It can be when you are a kindergartner dealing with a mouse pad. Many of the lovely interactive programs that we use require students to drag and drop. It is very difficult for students to learn.
I've tried to teach them different ways but the kiddos always end up spending more time trying to drag and drop then on the learning.
Please help me give my students computer mouses to help them focus on learning. Students will be more engaged in our learning programs if they are confident in their ability to navigate.
