Software to Lift the Level of Our Learning

My students need digital software subscriptions to Reasoning Mind, Big Universe and Dream Box for Math and ELA for enrichment and practice to deepen their understanding.

My Students

My students are fascinated by technology, but have limited access to computers in my school. Fortunately, with this grant I will be able to ensure that my students will use technology on a weekly basis to help enrich their learning in all content areas.

My students are generally first generation immigrants who have come to the USA to improve their lives.

Education is very important to my students and their families. They are hard-workers and have big dreams for their futures. Unfortunately, our school has a very tight budget with limited money for technology. I have made it my mission to bring technology to my classroom.

My Project

My students will use this digital Math and ELA software weekly to help enhance their learning. Through this software, they will have an online library of books to choose from and read on their computers. Additionally, through using the Math software students will enrich and practice the concepts that we are learning in the classroom. As a teacher, I have learned that most students learn through discovery and hands on opportunities, the software will allow them another opportunity to practice and learn 5th grade content through independent inquiry and investigation.

This software will help my students become more fluent in math and in reading.

Additionally, they will be able to dive deeper into the other content areas of our curriculum too by having access to an online book library. The math drills will help them to practice concepts taught during the day and allow them to work independently. Furthermore, all of this software will allow for differentiation to meet the needs of each individual student. Students will be accountable for their learning.
