Softball for All

My students need softballs, a bat, and batting tees to practice skills related to baseball and softball indoors when the weather is bad and outside when it is possible.

My Students

I remember the first time I was able to hit a softball from a tee and heard the sound of the ball and bat making contact. It was the best feeling ever to be able to run to first base and get there safely without someone laughing or making fun of me for missing the pitch. It meant the world to me!

Our students come from low income households and do not have the equipment or opportunities to play softball and baseball in their local community.

They have expressed interest in playing and always want to borrow the one bat and softball we have, but there are hundreds of students that would benefit from being able to practice these ball-related skills in physical education.

My Project

Softball requires coordination, fast reflexes, a mastery of throwing and catching, and the ability to work as an individual within a team. My students would benefit from learning and practicing the skills associated with playing softball in a myriad of ways and you could provide them the opportunity to do this for an entire population of students.

If we do not receive help from you, then we will not have the resources to teach this unit in our physical education program.

We really need people to help purchase the equipment needed to play the sport and practice the skills safely. Please consider how you can positively impact the lives of hundreds of children for years to come if you take the time to help today. Thank you.
