My Project

In our community, we have a lot of low income and non-parent homes. Lots of grandparents and even great grandparents are raising their families. We have some pretty heavy emotional issues. Death of parents, jailed parents, split parents, broken homes, minimal housing. They are loved so much by my aide and myself. I want this class to be their safe place. Often, my lap is what they sit in while they cry and I can comfort them.

Weighted animals help to calm troubles and make their bodies relax.

Comfort grips and comfort pens make writing easier. We need writing tablets too. It is important for their fingers to find the correct grip. Also, we provide all the snacks for our class. Some of the parents help, which is wonderful, but I don't want to put the burden on them either.
