Social/Emotional Super Ninjas!

Help me give my students opportunities to learn appropriate emotional coping skills within my classroom using hands-on tools such as seating, social/emotional curriculum, regulation lighting, sound machine, weighted lap blankets, a balance board and additional regulation tools.

My Students

The students within our school are striving to become leaders in their home, school, and community by learning and practicing skills that will help them be respectful, responsible, and safe.

Our school-wide focus is to help students feel safe, confident and connected.

As we work towards this goal we are striving to help students identify and utilize positive skills which facilitate their ability to experience success socially, emotionally, and academically.

We are a Title I school, which includes a Spanish Immersion program. Our student body consists of a variety of ethnicities, with varying backgrounds and demographics. In our school, we celebrate diversity and focus on the commonalities among us that connect us as caring human beings who build and celebrate one another's successes.

My Project

My student body has experienced a general increase in anxiety and stress associated with the emotional, physical, and environmental impacts of COVID-19. The printed curriculum and hands-on resources requested are important components in teaching my students healthy emotional regulation skills in an age-appropriate manner.

The requested materials are proper counseling tools that will facilitate social and emotional learning for students participating in my individual and group counseling lessons designed to teach the knowledge, dispositions, and skills required to address adverse emotional experiences in healthy and positive ways.

I look forward to utilizing these items in my continued efforts to build long-term social-emotional resilience within my wonderful students.
