Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school strives to teach the whole student. While we focus on the academic portion, I am also passionate about growing my students' social-emotional learning. My students are eager to learn through reading. My students are genuine and care for each other, they are always determined to help one another.
My class consists of 40 amazing students with each student holding a special place in my room.
Each of my students have different needs that I strive to meet through literacy!
My Project
I am requesting help for this project so that I can establish a culture of kindness and community for years to come. With the use of our social-emotional library, we will read about and learn about our feelings and how to manage them. We will learn about how to respond to tough situations with positive reactions. We will also learn how to establish meaningful and healthy relationships and maintain them. With the help of this project, I hope to teach kindness, empathy and self awareness in my classroom! 40 of my students will benefit through literature this year, but I hope that their learned skills will benefit many more.
