This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are third graders who have a variety of social emotional levels. After Covid, as you can imagine, we have a lot of students who are not able to identify how they are feeling and what they need in order to regain composure.

My students come from low income families and many are learning English for the first time.

Social emotional learning is just as important as math, reading, science, etc. My students need to be able to identify their feelings, regain composure and also be able to identify big feelings their friends might be having. I think these books and fidgets will do an amazing job of improving my students social emotional learning and awareness.
