This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Kimochis curriculum is a developmentally appropriate way to talk about self-management and self-regulation appropriately to 4-5 year old students. Kimochis curriculum comes with cuddly little plush toys with a special pocket in their tummies. Inside the pocket is a small, removable felt heart that has different feeling written on it, such as happy, sad, silly, angry, etc. The purpose of these Kimochis are to help children to identify and express their emotions in a healthy way.

The skills and lessons from these character plush dolls from Kimochis curriculum will help my students to do well in school with classmates and beyond.

With these plush character dolls, my students can use them to role play and improve their communication skills with classmates to solve everyday problems in a happier and positive way. These plush characters will help my students learning calming strategies, exposure them to situations that they will encountered in their lives, support them find solutions on how to solve certain problems and improve mental health.
