I teach in a kindergarten co-taught classroom. My students really need experiences with understanding their feelings and how to cope and communicate with them.
Emotional support is very important to the development of young children.
One item that I would think would benefit my students would be the descriptive plushies showing different emotions.
Children having something they can identify with especially if the student is non-verbal and is learning how to communicate, they can point to the emotional plushy that they are feeling.
My goals for my students are to help them use and develop communication skills. I would like to give my students access in multiple ways to express themselves. What makes my students special is the capabilities within them by learning through an inclusive classroom that gives access to all the needs of the students.
