Social Emotional Classroom Make and Take- Calm Down Jars

Help me give my students supplies to make calm down jars for personal use and for the classroom. Items are used for regulation of their emotions in order to have a clear mind to learn.

My Project

Students will create a calm down jar for their personal use and one will also be created for a space in the classroom. Many students have difficulty regulating their emotions such as frustration, anger, sadness and other challenges. A calming jar for their own use, will allow them to have a personalized tool to use when they need it. The eight mini emotion plush toys with A Little SPOT of Feelings book set will also help students regulate their emotions.

Students LOVE creating something for their own use.

They will be able to use their calm down jar, but they will also learn about why it's important to breathe and take time to calm their minds and bodies when their feelings become overwhelming.
