Social Distancing Seating for Kindergarten Learners
Help me give my students flexible seating options that will help them navigate new social distancing boundaries with a defined space that is just right for kindergarteners- inside or outside!
My kindergarten classroom is filled with bright, eager, and inquisitive learners. The students at my school are a diverse group of academic learners including a large population of ELL students.
Many of my students and their families are refugees and asylees from war-torn parts of the world.
We are a Title I Expeditionary Learning school in an urban neighborhood and our community is challenged economically. My students are culturally diverse, and bring the gift of that diversity with them into the classroom. I try to provide a warm, nurturing, and welcoming classroom where all students feel included and accepted.
My Project
This year, my kindergarteners and I will be navigating a whole new way of learning - learning with some physical distance! Due to safety guidelines, I am unable to have a carpet in my classroom, leaving my young learners only a tile floor to sit on.
The flex-space floor seats are the perfect way to help define boundaries for students, while also giving them a comfortable spot to learn together - with distance, and the option for both inside or carry outside (with the shoulder strap) for learning during the day.
They will be easy to clean, move, and provide physical support for young learners. The seats will help my students stay engaged for a longer period of time without feeling uncomfortable.
