This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school with students in low-income areas. Many of my athletes are only able to play sports in the school setting, and I would like for them to experience the same level of coaching they would get in soccer clubs.

My Project

We had such great success with our Speed and Agility Training project; we would like to obtain some equipment we would use during our regular soccer training practices. Most of the girls on the team have FutBal (Soccer) in their daily lives. They develop so many skills and relationships in the sport, which passes on to their lives in school. In addition, the players have proven to maintain higher grades and academic performance during the sports season than out of season. This performance is because soccer is important to them, and they know that education is important to me.

We will use the number cones for identifying drill locations and reference points on the field for training.

The Disc Cones will mark reference points on drills and are needed in multiple colors, so the players can quickly identify the different drills.

Finally, we will use the speed parachutes for running drills and use the Equipment Bags to carry our soccer balls to practice and keep them in the equipment room.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
