My Project

Our elementary school wants to help children to understand that a positive mindset is a valuable tool for setting and reaching goals. We have made these skills priorities this year.

Our school values an engaging and dynamic learning community.

We understand that motivation is one key to success. To support student motivation, we use positive reinforcement to encourage students. Throughout the year, children can earn SOAR cards and purchase SOAR experiences and Woo-Hoo Wagon items that they find valuable. This school-based rewards system promotes student responsibility, motivation, and participation in earning rewards.

Students earn SOAR cards by being great classroom and school citizens, taking part as learners, and finding value in their work at school. As the students accumulate SOAR cards, they choose how to spend them. This allows the students to have a voice in their rewards.

We want to be sure that these rewards have real value and meaning for the students. Therefore we are working to raise money to purchase these types of rewards for the children at our elementary school including games, fidgets, snacks and recorders.
