My students need Samsung Kids 5 Galaxy Tab E Lite 7'8GB to help them access the curriculum in a way that minimizes their challenges and lets them experience technology alongside their regular education peers.

My Students

I teach special education students who function best in an environment with a low number of students and an active classroom where learning is a happy experience involving hands on materials. My students struggle with a number of physical, cognitive and emotional challenges. When struggling to communicate and navigate in the world on a daily basis life can be frustrating These students are at risk of becoming labeled as behavior problems unless they are freed from some of their struggles and allowed to experience the joy of learning.

In order to access the true nature of the curruculum at their grade level their challenges need to be minimized so their curiosity and creativity can shine.

My students are bright, joyful and creative children and among the best problem solvers I know!

My Project

The Samsung - Galaxy Kids Tab E Lite - 7"- 8GB - White 5 pack will help the children in my classroom overcome many of their challenges to access the core curriculum at their grade level. Both our Math and Reading programs have an online component that allows the practice books to be completed online. We typically skip this step as it increases frustration due to their fine motor challenges but it is an important step that we could now address. Also each lesson comes with games. The students love the games and gain valuable skill practice from playing them.

Normally I was limited to chosing a grade level at a time but with 5 tablets students will be able to access different grade levels or different areas of the curriculum at the same time.

One challenge my students experience along with their academic and physical challenges is frustration and we spend a lot of time working on self calming techniques. There are many apps that can be put on the tablets for a student to access when needed which can help them work toward taking control of their own behavior.

There are a variety of other apps for language and fine motor development that will address the challenges of individual students which will complement the academic apps nicely.
