Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students love to read and learn about others. The famous and not so famous. Their experiences. What or who helped them to reach their goals. These examples can help our shape students by exposing them to the lives and challenges others face. They can encourage our students to follow in the footsteps of greatness.

The Biography section in our library is in desperate need of updating.

We need newer copies of older biographies, biographies on the current individuals who are making great strides in the environment, art and STEM areas and people in sports and entertainment.

Our school is not Title I and with no state money we are left with fundraising and donations to maintain the materials the current standards require for our library and students to continue to compete successfully.

My Project

How did Helen Keller live? What kind of education does Beyoncé have? What or who inspired Nikloa Tesla? How long has LeBron James been playing basketball and where did he grow up?

Interesting questions about interesting people.

Learning about how others have lived , grown up, the people who inspired them, the adversity they may have faced can help us to shape our own lives.

I would like to provide a wide selection of current biographies to our students to encourage the learning and understanding of the many people, their lives and contributions that have and continue to shape, change and propel our world forward.
