My Project

At my school, we focus on SEL (social emotional learning) and utilize Renzulli's Enrichment Clusters to identify strengths and giftedness in all children. This project would allow me to incorporate the individual strengths, interests, and talents of my students by providing the resources they need to sew and create their own projects.

The sewing machine, thread, material, and sewing supplies will give my students the opportunity to tap into their own individual talents and interests while being able to create handmade gifts to brighten the eyes of others!

Our school is a magnet school with very small class sizes. My Enrichment cluster will meet twice a week for an hour a day to focus on their talents and will give us time to be crafty and to create things that will brighten the days of others. I will measure the success of my students by having them share their creations in our group SEL meetings and by the interactions with others.

I love my students and all students at our school. They have such big hearts and always want to help each other out in the classroom. I can't wait to teach them how to sew by hand and with a sewing machine while watching their creativity shine!
