My Students

Reading is wonderful, but it is that much more enjoyable in a comfortable and relaxing space! We need a rug!

I am a Kindergarten teacher at a Title One school in Florida.

Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. My students love to come to school and they really enjoy learning in fun and engaging ways! Even though some of my students enter school without the kindergarten readiness skills they need, they work hard and are proud of their accomplishments. We make a point as a class community to recognize individual student achievements and we never say "I can't." We always say, "I'll try my best!"

My Project

My students love books and we spend lots of time reading in our classroom! The current rug in our classroom library, however, has seen better days. My students would be thrilled to have a new rug that is colorful, soft, and inviting! The rug I have requested has a reading theme that is certain to inspire and enrich my students as they peruse new books or retell favorite stories!

Reading is one of the most important skills a child will ever learn and establishing a love for reading starts early.

This rug will make a difference in the comfort level of my students and will encourage them to spend more time exploring books!
