This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the best! I teach in a rural school, which is a Title I school. Many of my students have had limited exposures in their lives. Most of my class qualifies for free or reduced lunch. English is their second language for a majority of my class. These student are so eager to learn and absorb new learning like a sponge! The parents of my students want the very best for their children and are very encouraging and supportive!

My Project

Our current rug has seen better days! It is faded from cleaning and every day wear and tear. The backing of the rug is coming off and this causes it to slip and move around. We are in need of a fresh new rug. This rug has colorful easy to see spots. With these clearly defined areas, it will be easy for each student to be able to see their own designated spot. This will help with overall classroom management. The rug will also relate to our kindergarten standards, it could also help in the teaching of colors and shapes.
