My Project
A Cricut machine allows my students to become creators of many projects related to all curriculum areas. Instead of consuming the creations of someone else, they become the inventors. The Cricut machine also allows my students to become creators by using cutting edge technology to visualize and create their own imaginations. This new and innovative technology is not readily available in public schools. We worked hard to receive it from the support of DonorsChoose however, we don’t have the proper supplies to use it to make projects. It came with very few samples with the printer bundle.
We need Cricut supplies for projects that make learning opportunities hands-on, creative and engage students who are reluctant learners.
By using a machine like this, they will learn to measure items, fonts and images for placement and have to spell and use uppercase letters correctly. They can make and sell their handcrafted items for friends and other teachers as fundraisers for the school. They can make personalized gifts such as t-shirts, tumblers, car and cellphone decals, labels for backpacks or reading bags, posters and cards. It will help build their self-esteem and teach them social skills and money management. The possibilities and curriculum integration are endless. We just need the supplies to be able to use it to make all these engaging, fun and educational projects possible.
