My Students

My 24 TK/K students are willing and able to learn but need the best experiences to broaden their horizons. We are a Title I school, and most of my students have not ever been to a school. I am planning to add flex seating to my classroom to make reading time the focus of the year. My students are 4 and 5-year-olds that have short attention spans but a thirst for knowledge.

We are developing lifelong learners and global citizens.

Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. Students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Traditional desks in rows isolate students from each other. As they gain knowledge and feel empowered, the greatest gift I can give them is the ability to see what learning opportunities are available.

My Project

The sight words from Child's First Publication make learning high-frequency words easy and enjoyable for all age levels. Students will add actions and images to make for easier memorization.

Science has proven that connecting the brain and body with movement allows students to retain information in a more meaningful way.

I can't wait to introduce these cards to my students who are 100% virtual. This comes with tips and lesson plans to get the teacher off to a solid start and it will be here before the winter break!
