I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title 1 school with a culturally diverse population in Los Angeles Unified School District. The students all receive free breakfast, lunch and supper. The majority of my students are entering school with this being their first learning environment. I have 28 students without an aide and many do not know the letters in their name. To have more one on one time and small group instruction I have had to rely on many different centers since we don't have computers or iPads available to us. The students are in need of more chances to hear complex language and opportunities to have their voices and thoughts heard. The all strive to be kind, responsible citizens daily! Our class motto is "treat others as you would like to be treated". They are eager to learn and make a difference in their community!!
