This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students, like all people are highly motivated by food. My students have worked hard in all my classes this year.

Food can help build community in a classroom.

Working together in a crew to solve a problem or film a movie is more difficult than it might sound when there are different ideas and opinions. The rewarding aspect of this is hanging out together and eating snacks and discussing the day how things went and how things can improve. We have snacks, chips and candy for PBIS rewards and just to break bread and eat together. Many kids eat their lunch in my class. It brings the class community together and students are highly motivated by food to complete work and behave in a positive way. I would like to be able to have free snacks available for students at the end of the year In addition, I would then like to reward several students who have gone above and beyond and done exceptionally well on assignments, and assessments.
