Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are always hungry as they come from high poverty homes, and they are not always filled up by our school lunch breakfast and lunch programs. We have an extended school day, which makes for long mornings and afternoons and few breaks.

Healthy snacks will help to keep my students from concentrating on their hungry bellies, and instead keep them focused on their work and tests.

When you feel hungry it is difficult to focus on the learning before you. These snacks will keep my students filled up especially on testing days when they need the most stamina. In this age of data, we are constantly testing our kids to see if they are making progress. Having a full belly will lead to a strong mind!
