This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are lively and eager to learn. They find comfort in hands-on activities and the opportunity to voice their opinion. The children vary in ages, as I am the technology instructor.
My children are in a Title I school and often times are in need of more than just my love and desire to teach them.
I find that they are motivated through snacks and other tangible items as opposed to the basic praise. I strive to keep my children motivated and on task so they leave my care not only smart and prepared for life but also tech-savvy.
My Project
My children are a loving bunch but can find themselves bored without the proper motivation. The goal of this project is to provide my students with incentives that they choose. We actually had a discussion today about what I can do to help them stay on track.
The students requested food, and after further discussions, they actually voted on the specific things they want as incentives, including chips and fruit snacks.
We turned it into a bar graph and made a whole lesson out of it. Now I am very excited about being able to provide them with the incentives they have requested.
