This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have typically failed in the regular school system and are now attending our school for more intensive supports to help them complete their education. Many of our students come from low-income households which do not allow them to spend money on healthier foods. Our goal is exposure and to be able to provide students with snacks to make serious lifestyle changes while also aiding them in their academic classes.

My students need snacks to help them focus and stay alert in classes.

They are open to trying new things and learning about medical conditions and how their diet could affect or cause them is a major focus in this class.

My Project

These snacks will help to expose my students to healthier alternatives for their daily snacking. These snacks will provide my students healthier choices of snacks to get them through their days and supplement their school meals.

Many of my students cannot afford fresh, healthy foods and are already experiencing how poor diet can impact their mental and physical health.

These snacks will allow me to expose my students to healthier alternatives. In class, we will be examining nutrition facts and how our mental and physical health is affected by what we eat. We are sure that exposure will encourage students to eat healthier and always seek to try new alternatives.
