This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching 20 super, smart first graders. Unfortunately, my students come from high poverty, low socioeconomic communities. Ninety-nine percent of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite these circumstances, my children are full of spirit and have positive attitudes about learning. They absolutely love coming to school.
These first graders come in each morning with hugs and big smiles on their faces.
They are eager to learn and love for me to teach them new things. I want to make their learning experiences as meaningful and fun as possible.
My Project
Keeping my students' tummies full is a must in first grade. Many of my first graders come in hungry and need snacks for the bus ride home.
Giving them a little snack throughout the day, helps keep them focused on learning.
Also having a snack for the long bus ride home, helps keep a smile on their faces. We are asking for cookies, chips, beef sticks, and candy. Any little snack helps my little ones refuel and focus on their daily assignments. Being able to provide a little treat makes all the difference. Please consider a donation to our classroom snack project.
