Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Classroom operations have become more complex each year. Students apply for jobs, and they get paid. This year, we use an online banking system called Class Equity, where students can monitor their daily deposits and withdrawals. This system is used for PBIS and everyday financial literacy, which students do not get in school. Using this program, students will learn banking, purchasing, budgeting, and more.

To continue this, I must fill our classroom store with products that students need and want.

Many students come to school hungry without a snack for recess. These items will be used for a free snack and our class store. Students can earn money in many ways, like doing their classroom job, completing work on time, getting good reports from elective teachers and subs, compliments of our class by other teachers, and many more ways.

Other items listed, like dictionaries, ink, the TPT gift card, thesauruses, and flexible seating options, will be used for other classroom operations to support students. Dictionaries and thesaurus are used for weekly spelling work. Flexible seating is used daily, while the Ink and TPT gift card is used to supplement student learning for resources and printing materials.

These products with allow us to continue our journey of financial knowledge that will ultimately benefit students when they become adults.
