Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My schools is 100% free and reduced breakfast and lunch. This means most families can not afford to purchase breakfast and lunch for their children so our school district provides it. Students go to school from 8:30am - 3:30pm and we have lunch at 11:10am, by 2:30 their little stomachs are growling!

When this project is funded, we will have snack for the rest of the school year!

Most families can not afford to purchase snacks for the whole class and we can't have some kids bring snacks and others go without. Myself and a couple families have been providing snack since September. The last two weeks has been hard and there have been days we are without snack. Any left over snack will be donated to summer school or used for my class next September.

Just a small snack gives students time to refuel their brains, chat with friends, and get ready to continue learning in the afternoon. It truly does make a difference!
