Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Is it hard for you to concentrate when you are hungry? Do you become distracted when your stomach is rumbling?

My school provides free breakfast for all students, and most of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch.

The two meals at school are sometimes the only food that my students will get for the day. In my classroom, I ask that my students bring in a healthy snack for the entire class at least once a month. Unfortunately, many of my students are unable to do that this year because of financial difficulties.

My Project

I would like for my students to have various snacks, hand sanitizer, tissues, and disinfecting wipes. My students will be able to make sure they have clean hands before eating their snack by using hand sanitizer. They will be able to have a snack every day to curb their hunger and to help them better concentrate on their work. The disinfecting wipes and tissues will help to ensure that students' desks are clean.

The attention span of young students is not very long.

If they are hungry, it's even shorter. This project will make a difference in my classroom by helping to keep my students' bellies full and by helping to keep them focused on their work.
