My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Over 75% of our students are receiving free or reduced-price lunch and many come from homes with little to no parental support. We are very culturally diverse as well. The resources in our district are limited and students oftentimes do not get the opportunity to experience unique resources or experiences.

Despite the many challenges they face, my students are eager to be challenged academically and grow as both students and humans.

My students each have their own different personality. I like to think of them as different colors where individually they may be a nice color, but when put together they make a beautiful rainbow.

My Project

Help me give my students snacks for our Student Recognition Store. The Student Recognition Store runs to benefit us in many ways. It helps fundraise for our Honor Roll Field trips, student of the month breakfasts, and many more. These snacks will be put out during our student store for students to use their Positive Behaviors Points to buy.

It will make a difference in my classroom as well as school-wide.

Often times, students' positive behaviors go unnoticed. I want to reward my students' good deeds with these items. I want to provide a variety of items that will reward students for their good behavior while also motivating them to continue with positive academic behavior.
