My Project

Students in our school, for various reasons, come to school hungry. School is not just a place that they come to learn reading, writing, math, etc.

School is their home away from home; a place they seek their basic needs to be met.

Each year, I create one or more projects that fall under the “Warmth, Care, & Hunger” category. I have seen students’ demeanors change when they are able to be given a snack to eat while they work. While the school does provide breakfast, lunch, and a healthy fruit or vegetable snack each day, some kids need more. I often send snacks home with students to have while at home; especially over long weekends or breaks. With your help, I can continue to help provide my students with snacks while they are in my classroom. Thank you for considering our 3rd grade class!
