My Students

My students are members of a rural community on an Indian reservation in Montana. The majority of the students in our school district are impacted by poverty and a variety of other traumatic challenges. My students overcome these obstacles every day and come to school excited to learn.

For many of our students, school is their only safe place, where they have the freedom to grow and learn, as children their age should.

I have the wonderful pleasure of being a teacher for the strong and amazing 9 and 10 year old students in my class. They are creative, inquisitive, and kind. Your donation will help provide each of my students with the opportunity to be successful in school and in life.

My Project

Through the funding of this project, you will be providing my students with a daily snack that will fuel their learning. Research has shown that a child must have their basic needs met before they are able to be successful learners. One of those basic needs is food and the snacks in this project will help give my students the energy they need to power through their academic day.

A small snack each day not only keeps their hunger at bay, but it also gives them the nutrients they need to focus on their schoolwork.
