Research has shown that learning only happens when students' basic needs are met first. One of those basic needs is hunger. Because of the homes that my students come from, they often come to school hungry. This project will provide snacks for our classroom so that my students have access to food when they experience hunger throughout the school day. A small snack during the day is often times just what my students need to stay focused and engaged in their learning. At 9 and 10 years old, their bodies are growing and changing and a snack allows them to be successful learners. Thank you for helping provide snacks for our classroom.
