This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from a community that suffers from poverty and they have been affected by many different traumas. Some traumas have left them with nothing. Their joy in coming to school is at times the only time where they can be themselves and feel safe.
The snacks and treats that they receive when they come to school are sometimes the only ones they get, these snacks will help my students have the ability to focus and learn, sometimes school is the only place they eat and learning on an empty stomach is hard.
My students will be able to have snack, breakfast, or a goodies to go home with if my project gets funded.
