My Students
My students are amazing. They come to school prepared to learn and try their best to achieve our high expectations every day.
Our school is located in a low-income area with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
Most of my students have limited resources outside of school, so our school may provide their only chance to experience enriching activities. My goal every year is to create an environment that is warm, safe and welcoming while maintaining a fun, creative learning atmosphere.
My Project
Unfortunately, lunch for many of our students is the last full meal they will eat until breakfast the next morning. Once we return to school after the Covid-19 Pandemic we will be in desperate need of snacks that will provide nutrition to keep our students focused throughout the day. I am requesting snacks that can easily be eaten at school or at home. Rice Krispies, popcorn, granola bars, and Cheese-Its are items that will keep students ready for the day!
I would like to be able to provide my students with a healthy snack, to eat at school or take home.
It's hard to have to think or work on an empty stomach and not knowing how soon a child will have something to eat after school is disheartening. I want to be able to at least provide them with a healthy snack to keep their bodies running. These snacks will help my students recharge their energy and focus better on completing the daily tasks at school.
